When she noticed the $20 bill she was surprised and said, “Ohhhh! Yes sir, I’ll see what I can find for you.” After several key-strokes, she told me that because of the length of my stay she could not give me a complimentary upgrade to a suite but that she would put me on a high floor, in a newly renovated room with a nice view, and then asked me if I would like to have all my meals comped. As I handed her my ID and credit card with $20 bill folded in-between before she asked for them, I commented that I hoped she could find me a really nice room even though I was checking-in early. Made friendly chit-chat with clerk when she called me forward. How It Happened: Arrived at hotel at about noon and was first in line for check-in. However, the real “upgrade” was that I was given coupons for three meals per day at the Gold Coast buffet for my entire 8 day stay, as well as being given an extra Gold Coast coupon book. Room was still a standard king bed, but was near top floor (7th of 9), with a “Strip” view to the southeast, and it was a newly refurbished room.
